Wild Horses
A fine art photography series capturing wild horses in their natural habitat, Wild Horses features breathtaking images of untamed herds running free across vast plains, rugged deserts, and remote mountain valleys. Photographed by Blake DeBock over more than a decade of travel throughout the Americas, this body of work defines a style that is entirely his own—wide-angle, atmospheric, and immersive. Wild horses have never been photographed like this: entire herds in motion, captured in sweeping light and dramatic skies, rendered with the depth and scale of the landscapes they call home. A rare and timeless collection at the intersection of equine photography, western landscapes, and fine art storytelling.
In the far reaches of the wild, where fences vanish and the wind runs free, horses still live as they were meant to. Over the years, Blake has followed their tracks through open plains, desert storms, and snow-covered mountains—waiting for the moments when movement, light, and instinct collide. From the high deserts of the American West to the remote valleys of Patagonia, each encounter offers a fleeting glimpse of something elemental: grace, power, and enduring freedom.
This collection brings those moments together in all their raw beauty. Some images are quiet and reflective; others are sweeping, cinematic scenes alive with motion and energy. Often chasing storms or standing still beneath brooding skies, Blake captures wild horses not as subjects—but as part of the landscape itself. Herds stretch across the frame in full stride, the West rendered in a way that feels both real and dreamlike.
In 2023, inspired by these great herds, Blake adopted a wild mustang—a striking black stallion named Eclipse—bridging the space between his art and his life. Wild Horses is more than a collection. It’s a tribute to the unbroken, and an invitation to witness a freedom that still survives.
