Stallions of the Sea
A fine art photography series capturing breathtaking images of horses in the ocean, set free to run along the beach and swim in the warm tropical waters. Photographed by Blake DeBock, these stunning seascapes are brought to life in the vivid, dreamlike colors of sunrises and sunsets—evoking salt air, rhythm, and freedom. An artistic vision years in the making, and a rare fusion of horse photography and fine art storytelling.
Photographed along a remote stretch of the Caribbean coast, this series follows two stallions as they are set free to gallop on the white sands and swim with the ocean waves. This collection is built on contrast—two stallions, one black, one white, set loose in a place made for neither and somehow perfect for both.
Set against the open coastline, they reflect something elemental: light and shadow, presence and force.
The black horse is power. The white is spirit. Their movement feels both instinctive and timeless, like something remembered rather than guided. The collection draws influence from the Mayan world, felt in tone, in energy, in the titles that name each piece, and even in the names of the horses themselves.
Together, these images capture a rare kind of beauty, the quiet pairing of power and grace, and the unexpected poetry of horses at the edge of the sea.
