The Year of the Fire Horse
2026 is the Year of the Fire Horse, a cycle that appears only once every sixty years. In the lunar zodiac, the Horse represents strength, endurance, and an independent spirit. When paired with Fire, that force intensifies. Fire is associated with visibility, passion, and transformation. Together, the Fire Horse is linked to amplified momentum and decisive forward movement.
In Chinese tradition, the zodiac rotates through twelve animals and five elements, forming a sixty year cycle. The Horse has long symbolized power and stamina. Fire adds heat and volatility, turning that steady strength into something more charged and kinetic. Fire Horse years are regarded as dynamic periods when energy rises and progress accelerates.
My entire life I’ve been drawn to them as something deeper, almost spiritual. I’ve experienced that presence all over the world, from riding with the Navajo in the American West to watching a gaucho break a wild horse in remote Patagonia. I became obsessed with photographing herds of wild horses as they have never been seen before; entire herds in motion, captured under amazing light and dramatic skies within the depth and scale of the landscapes they call home. Years ago I began adopting wild horses of my own, and living with them changed me. Training them, earning their trust, working through their fear and strength, I realized they weren’t just powerful creatures. They were healing.
This year, we are honoring the Fire Horse. I invite you to explore the collection and see that energy for yourself.
