The new Chair 1 rises up Mammoth Mountain during a modern winter storm, the lift line climbing through fresh snow and rugged alpine terrain high above the Main Lodge. First installed in 1955 by Dave McCoy as Mammoth’s original chairlift, Chair 1 marked the beginning of lift-served skiing on the mountain and has remained one of the most iconic lines in the resort’s history.
